Position Summary: To model, uphold, and facilitate the school mission of being dedicated to building academic excellence, developing Christ-like character, and equipping students to serve others. To help fulfill the school vision to inspire and nurture academic growth, to equip students to think biblically and critically, to help each individual live life in a manner worthy of the Lord, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit wherever called by God to serve, to develop our students to be leaders and influencers, and to impact our world as servants of Christ. Major Duties & Responsibilities: Maintaining a close, personal walk with the Lord and being a credible Christian role model, in and out of school, in attitude, speech, and action as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit. Being able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and We Believe Statements. Possessing Biblical knowledge and the ability to integrate Scripture into subject matters taught in order to shape a biblical worldview. Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom Preparing lessons, units and projects to complete learning objectives Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, units and projects Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students Encouraging students to explore learning opportunities and career paths Creating, assigning and grading various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays and projects Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention Tracking and evaluating student academic progress Leading parent-teacher meetings Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers and supervisors Managing student behavior Creating a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment Communicating regularly with parents Helping students improve study methods and habits Administering tests to evaluate students’ progress Skills & Qualifications: Ability to develop lesson plans and successfully instruct students in theories, methods and tasks Ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs Knowledge of appropriate educational psychology, learning styles and strategies Strong public speaking and oral presentation skills Excellent organization and time management skills Technology skills to track student attendance and grades and present creative lessons Leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages Equal Employment Opportunity Faith Bible Christian Schools is a faith-based institution of education which requires faculty and staff to be in agreement with our doctrinal statement and to adhere to our community lifestyle standards.
