If you thrive in a fast-paced, multi-property setting and enjoy partnering with operations and revenue managements to drive financial success, we’d love to hear from you!As an Area Director of Sales, your primary objectives are...Establish and maintain relationships with current clients and identify new business from a result of the relationship Be responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group / catering related opportunities Effectively source out new corporate clientsProspect to identify and close new business and conduct site tours for potential clients at both locationsWork with the General Managers of each property and the VP of Sales and Marketing to achieve required sales goals.Respond to all sales inquiries, RFPs, and other leads accurately, timely, and in a professional mannerType correspondence, reports, and necessary forms i.e. contracts, as well as prepare proposals or other letters as directedImplement sales policies and procedures as developed in the annual Marketing PlanMake personal sales callsDevelop creative marketing techniquesDevelop and maintain relationships with the local Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors BureauParticipate in the preparation of the annual hotel budgetMaintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assetsManage and develop sales team including training, counseling, evaluating, and rewarding behaviorsRespond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely mannerParticipate in the Executive committee including sharing and communicating knowledge and by attending weekly or monthly meetings.Other duties as assignedRequirementsHave at least 2 years of experience in a hotel sales management roleComprehensive knowledge of market position, OCC, ADR, banquet and food and beverage revenues, overall GOP, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning. Be fully knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the area.Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.Achieve and exceed individual and team annual goals as established by the annual Marketing Plan.Be fully knowledgeable of the role of rooms merchandising as it pertains to overall revenue and to periodically evaluate, assess, and revise the parameters of the program.Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors. Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed.Ability to accurately report information. Ability to assist with various office tasks as needed.Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.Ensures that he/she adheres to all sales administrative processes that are in place from the StepStone Corporate Office.Attend required meetings.
