We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our growing team of more than six engineering geologists to support our efforts on interesting and challenging dam, tunnel, and geohazard projects across the United States. This position will consist of management of advanced geotechnical investigations with a focus on both existing and proposed dam, hydropower, and pumped-storage hydropower projects.Job ResponsibilitiesSupport detailed and technically advanced geotechnical investigations for dams, tunnels, and other critical infrastructure projectSupport installation and measurement of geotechnical instrumentationSupport the creation of Drilling Program Plans (DPPs)Oversee geotechnical investigations in the field Log test boringsPerform geologic field mappingQA/QC boring logs and material classificationsPrepare boring logs and drawings using OpenGround and other software packagesSupport 3D geologic modeling effortsCollect and prepare samples for laboratory testingOversee geologically related construction activitiesPerform calculations to support designsProvide support on preparation of reports and proposalsSupport potential failure mode analyses, risk analyses, and design and construction projectsRequired Skills/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, Geology, or related Science2 or more years of professional experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvementWillingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last a few weeks away from the office Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outsideDesired Skills/ExperiencePrior professional work in a related fieldMaster’s Degree in related field preferredOpenGround, CADD, and/or GIS experience preferredGIT or PG Licensure preferredOther RequirementsAbility to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit checkAbility to pass a pre-employment screeningThe compensation range for a Senior Staff Geologist is between $65,000 to $95,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
