ApplyDescriptionSummary:The Local Construction Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by facilitating the needs of the customer's job site in the Eastern Iowa market. This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and targeted contractors in the field. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:Adhere to all company safety policies and initiativesComplete returns for parts from the jobsiteMaintain jobsite inventoryComplete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shippingConduct product inspection, and storage at the jobsiteFlexible and adaptable to change priorities on short noticeWork closely with Inside Sales and PurchasingProvide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and specific jobsite personnelBuild relationships with site personnelSet up and relocate fabrication stations/areasClean, stock and remove excess material from work areasDeliver parts to needed areas of jobsiteReceive and distribute deliveries as neededKeep work areas clean and orderlyDeliver, unload, and stage materials on jobsite as neededExtended out of state travel to customer job sitesRequirementsCritical Success Factors:Ability to work collaboratively with all areas of the job siteAbility to learn, grow, and adapt to changeAbility to effectively communicate with outside vendors and customersExecute duties with the highest regard for safety, continuous improvement, and cost reductionAbility to successfully work independently and in a team environmentStrong work ethic with a positive attitudeWillingness to give and receive constructive feedbackExcellent communication skillsStrong problem solving abilityAbility to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlinesSelf-motivatedDependableDetail orientatedAbility to stay on taskDrive for continuous improvementAdvocate for Van MeterJob Requirements/Specifications:High school diploma or GED requiredPrevious customer service experience requiredPrevious distribution center experience preferredAbility to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basisAbility to operate lift truck equipmentAbility to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as neededAbility to stand and walk for long periods of timeWillingness to obtain a Class A or Class B CDL if deemed necessaryAbility to meet and maintain qualifications as required by the DOTDemonstrated computer skillsKnowledge of Eclipse preferredKnowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plusForklift operating experience requiredMinimum 2 year commitment requiredWork Environment & Physical Demands:Consistent standing, walking, lifting, work indoorsFrequent carrying, pushing, bending @ the waist, twisting upper body, reaching, working with hands, working with fingers, vision acuity-near, vision acuity-far, depth perception, field of vision, vision adjustment, color vision, team lifting, works with others, cold, heat, temperature changesSome sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, driving, works alone, non-Standard shift work, extended day, humid, noise, work outdoors, mechanical hazardsOccasional crawling, customer contact, wet, vibration, confined area, high places, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
