Summary The Webster County School District is seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals to serve as substitutes in various educational settings. The Substitute will play a critical role in maintaining continuity of instruction and supporting the educational environment when regular staff members are unavailable. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere and ensuring that students' educational needs are met. Responsibilities - Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure students continue to receive quality instruction. - Manage classroom behavior and maintain a conducive learning environment. - Engage students in learning activities and encourage participation. - Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the varying needs of students. - Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. - Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and other non-instructional periods as needed. - Maintain accurate attendance records and report any incidents or concerns to school administration. - Collaborate with other staff members to support the educational goals of the school. - Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or a related field is preferred. Pay is based off education level. - Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is an advantage. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles. - Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward students and staff. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. - Must pass background checks and meet any state certification requirements for substitute teaching. - Availability to work on short notice and a willingness to accept assignments in various grade levels and subjects.
