Clay Instructional Assistant I
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Clay Elementary School as an Instructional Assistant I. This full-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting the educational development of young learners. The Instructional Assistant I will work closely with teachers to provide a positive classroom environment, assist with instructional activities, and support the diverse needs of students. Responsibilities - Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. - Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their understanding of the curriculum. - Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and participation. - Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support as needed. - Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources, ensuring they are organized and accessible. - Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. - Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with staff to improve instructional practices. - Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents regarding student progress and needs. - Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations as directed by the teacher. - Perform other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration. Requirements - 42 College hours or passing of the paraeducator exam. - Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from the classroom teacher. - Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the academic and social development of students. - Basic knowledge of educational practices and child development principles. - Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support learning. - Must pass background checks and any required training or certifications as mandated by the school district. - Flexibility to adapt to changing classroom needs and student requirements. Pay based off years of experience.
