Avalon Care Center Federal Way is now hiring an Infection Preventionist/Staff Development Coordinator!Wage: $106,080.00 - $120,061.00This position is part of the clinical leadership team. Responsible for design and dissemination of infection prevention information, including surveillance data and policy decisions. Is also accountable for decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community. On Call are not eligible for any of the above except 401kPlacement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Collects infection data, maintains records for each case of healthcare- associated infectionConducts outbreak investigationsTrains clinical facility leaders on implementation of infection prevention practicesInvestigates incidents of infections and reports such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and identifies supplies required for infection prevention activitiesResponsible for the following:The prevention and control of infection on a 24-hour basisProviding direction regarding the management of infectious patients/residents and other infection prevention issuesDirecting the infection control risk assessment in conjunction with the executive and clinical leadership teamsDeveloping and implementing the annual infection prevention planEvaluating the annual plan for goal achievement in conjunction with the IPCConducting surveillance of infectionsDirecting and monitoring audits regarding the implementation of and compliance with policiesProviding education and trainingLiaise with clinical teams regarding the development of standards, audits, and researchWorks with the federal, state and county departments of health regarding infectious and communicable disease reportingQualificationsRequired Education and Experience* Current RN licensurePreferred Education and ExperienceCurrent certification in Infection Control preferredBachelors degreePost-acute care work experience
