Project Engineer

Job Title: Program ManagerJob DescriptionThe Portfolio Project Manager is responsible for managing the execution of sustaining and new development projects for the optical and acoustic gas detector product group. This role requires developing and maintaining detailed cross-functional resource and project plans, leading teams in executing project deliverables in accordance with company development procedures, and navigating project and technical challenges to remain on-time and on-budget. The manager will handle the portfolio of projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial design to end-of-life, including product launches and enhancements.Responsibilities+ Lead the end-to-end delivery of electromechanical products, including team selection, management, metrics tracking, and reporting.+ Communicate effectively with management and collaborate with cross-functional teams.+ Manage project execution in a regulated market or with life-safety products.+ Build collaborative partnerships with functional teams such as sourcing, testing, manufacturing, and quality.+ Schedule project design efforts and coordinate project activities.Essential Skills+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.+ 7-10+ years of project or program management experience in delivering electromechanical products within a manufacturing environment.+ Proven success in leading product development through structured stage-gate governance.+ Experience in regulated or life safety product environments.+ Strong leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability.+ Proficiency in risk management, execution discipline, and stakeholder communication.+ Familiarity with standard project and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams/SharePoint.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Advanced degree (MS, MBA).+ PMP or formal project management certification.+ Experience with fire, gas detection, or industrial safety products.+ Familiarity with Agile tools or hybrid environments such as Jira and Confluence.+ Strong executive-level presentation and data-synthesis skills.Work EnvironmentThe role is situated in a high-technology engineering environment, requiring strong hardware knowledge and experience in scheduling project design efforts. The position involves managing the manufacturing process and program management within a collaborative and innovative atmosphere.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
