Patient Sample Logistics Coordinator - Biotech

We are looking for a high-energy, detail-driven Logistics Professional (Patient Sample Logistics Coordinator) to anchor our client’s healthcare supply chain. In this role, you are managing life-saving, time-critical patient samples. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where precision meets pace, and you love solving logistical puzzles before they become problems, we want you on our team. This is a 6-month contract position and based on performance may be considered for full-time or extension of the contract. 6 paid holidays while on contract included.Payrate $30 per hourOffice Hours: 7:30 - 4:30SummaryDetail-oriented logistics professional with experience supporting patient sample tracking, medical shipment coordination, and healthcare supply chain operations. Skilled in monitoring time-sensitive specimen shipments, maintaining accurate records, reconciling shipment data, and coordinating with couriers, laboratories, to ensure compliance and timely delivery. Proficient in spreadsheet management, reporting, and shipment documentation with strong organizational and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesTrack and monitor patient sample shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to laboratories.Coordinate with major courier carriers including FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, and freight providers to manage shipments, delays, and delivery updates.Support import/export and transportation processes for medical samples and laboratory materials while following healthcare and regulatory guidelines.Maintain detailed shipment logs, patient sample records, chain-of-custody documentation, and tracking information using spreadsheets and logistics systems.Generate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics reports related to sample transit times, delivery performance, shipment exceptions, and operational efficiency.Reconcile shipment records, laboratory receipts, tracking numbers, and courier invoices to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.Communicate with management, laboratories, client services, and internal departments regarding shipment status, delays, and delivery confirmations.Ensure proper handling and documentation of temperature-sensitive and time-critical patient samples.Identify shipment delays or transportation issues and escalate concerns to appropriate teams for timely resolution.Maintain organized electronic and physical records for audits, compliance reviews, and operational reporting.SkillsPatient Sample TrackingCourier & Medical Transport CoordinationImport & Export DocumentationChain-of-Custody DocumentationShipment ReconciliationSpreadsheet Management (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)Reporting & Metrics AnalysisHIPAA AwarenessData Entry & Record AccuracyTime-Sensitive Shipment HandlingRegulatory ComplianceVendor & Laboratory CommunicationProblem Solving & Attention to DetailCustomer Service & Administrative SupportTechnical SkillsMicrosoft ExcelGoogle SheetsMicrosoft Office SuiteShipment Tracking Systems (FedEx, DHL, UPS… )Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Data Reporting Tools (Spreadsheet, Tableau, Salesforce…)JSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
