DB2 SQL Developer Job DescriptionAs a DB2 SQL Developer, I am responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects within IBM DB2 environments. My work ensures efficient data storage, retrieval, and integration for enterprise applications while maintaining performance, scalability, and security.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, write, and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval and reporting.Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions in DB2.Perform data modeling, schema design, and normalization for high-performance applications.Analyze and optimize query performance using EXPLAIN plans and indexing strategies.Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data across systems.Support application teams with database integration and troubleshooting.Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies.Work closely with developers, architects, and business analysts to deliver scalable database solutions.Skills & ToolsStrong expertise in DB2 SQL and relational database designHands-on experience with query optimization, indexing, and performance tuningFamiliarity with Java/Spring Boot applications integrating with DB2Experience in ETL processes and working with large datasetsProficiency in stored procedures, functions, and triggersTools: IBM Data Studio, DB2 Control Center, DBeaverKnowledge of data security, backup, and recovery strategies
