PAT PARENT EDUCATOR - WEST - HYBRID

This is a hybrid position and the candidate must reside within the following county(s) within Region 8: Val Verde, Edwards, Kinney, Maverick, Dimmit, Zavala, Uvalde, Real, and Medina County.PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTYSatisfactory implementation and delivery of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program within the context of the PAT curriculum and Quality Essential Requirements.A certified parent educator implements the PAT model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well-being in their work with families. Utilizing the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, the Parent Educator partners, facilitates, and reflects with families.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdministrativeMaintain accurate logs and records as required by the PAT Program and SJRC TexasPrepare and submit monthly reports as scheduled by the PAT Program including but not limited to a monthly Summary of Service (SOS), mileage documentation and TPCN documentation and billingMaintain the ability to use time and resources effectively to meet job requirementsMaintain up to date client records-meeting all PAT requirements for documentation in family folders and in required databasesEnsure all program data is accurate and detailedAbide by TPCN documentation and billing guidelinesStrong organizational and record keeping skillsProgramParticipate in staff meetings, trainings and conferences as required by PATEffectively administer parent/caregiver assessments to all enrolled caregivers.Develop, monitor and review goals with each familyProvide group connections to give families an opportunity to build social connections with each other, engages in parent-child interaction activities, and increase their knowledge of ways to support children's developmentEffectively deliver PAT services to a caseload of up to 20 families using the Parents as Teachers curriculum to deliver home visitsPlan, provide and document personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well beingMaintain confidentialityHelp parents and children transition to other services as neededDevelop and maintain trusting relationships with parents as a model for parent-child relationshipsSupport and promote the philosophy and integrity of PATBe available to provide PAT presentations at health fairs and to individuals, school staff, or community agenciesBe available to respond to phone or written communication from individuals seeking information on PAT or Prevention ServicesAssist with completion of the PAT Annual Program ReportMonitor and manage a healthy balance between personal and professional responsibilitiesEngage in recruitment activitiesTravel to and back from home visits within assigned regionOther related duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONSRequired:Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development or Social Science field of study preferred1+ Years in Social Services Field including early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or related fieldMust be Bilingual in English and SpanishCertifications/Licenses/Registrations:Valid state drivers license, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insuranceCPR/First Aid Certification (provided)PAT Certified Educator 0-3PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATIONBody mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, walk and walk briskly in order to interact with and monitor childrenStamina to work long days and drive long distancesAbility to work at various times throughout the week to include some evenings and weekendsMust have ability to communicate both verbally and in writingEnvironment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environmentsHome-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noiseFrequent exposure to various living environmentsCampuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areasSJRC'S TEAM CORE COMPETENCIESOrganizational Responsibility* Supports and works to achieve SJRC Texas's mission, vison, core values, and strategic goals* Maintain fiscal responsibility and confidentialityProfessionalism* Present a neat, clean appearance and dresses appropriately for the job* Sets a good example for others by own self-discipline and behavior and displays positive attitude and demeanorPlanning and ExecutionWorks in an organized manner and uses time effectivelyAbility to work independently and be self-motivated (often in the field)Meets commitmentsBegins work, meetings and appointments when scheduledObserves and follows policies regarding time offDependableAccepts responsibility for attendance and punctualityFlexible and able to adjust workload to accommodate changes in prioritiesCommunicationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengthsUse of positive language towards the organization and their goalsHandles information in a confidential mannerListens to details, gets clarification as needed;
