Position: Café Attendant - Food Service Department: OperationsStatus: At-Will, Part Time, Non-exempt positionSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneSupervisor: Operations ManagerJob Summary:The Café Attendant will provide routine food preparation and customer assistance servicesthroughout the Café.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodationAvailable to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidaysMeet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodationEngage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communicationPrepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredientsAvailable to perform many different tasks within the Cafe during each shiftArrange table settings (grab and go style), restock beverage fridge and snack shelve, replace stir sticks, paper napkins, pre-packaged condiments according to café standard, as neededClears, cleans, and sanitizes tablesMaintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstationsFollows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service Required Skills /Abilities:Ability to read and follow instructions and learn quicklyAbility to learn quicklyAbility to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when neededStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to build relationshipsUnderstanding of proper food handling and sanitation proceduresAbility to multi-task Education and Experience:High School DiplomaCalifornia Food Handlers Certification (or ability to achieve before first day of work) Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Prolonged periods of standingMust be able to access and navigate all areas of the caféMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at timesMay be required to work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the work environment can be noisy and you may beworking in close proximity with others.
