OVERVIEWStucky Vitale Architects is seeking a licensed Architect III to take ownership of project segments, lead technical production, and grow into a senior voice on our delivery team. The Architect III at SVA progresses from independent technical execution toward leading multi-discipline coordination, guiding junior staff, and representing the firm in client settings.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn assigned project segments from schematic design through construction documents, with full accountability for technical accuracy, coordination, and on-time deliveryLead multi-discipline coordination with MEP, structural, and civil consultants; at the senior end of the band, resolve conflicts and drive decisions without escalation to project managementPerform and document code analysis — IBC, ADA/ABA, FGI, and local authorities — translating findings into design decisions and project documentationDirect the day-to-day production work of Architect I and II team members assigned to the project; conduct redline reviews and provide structured, actionable feedbackLead the RFI and submittal review process during construction administration; conduct site observations and author field reports independentlyRepresent SVA in client meetings and OAC settings; present design solutions and technical recommendations with increasing authority as experience growsAuthor and review specifications across multiple CSI divisions; at the senior end of the band, review and approve specifications produced by junior staffIdentify scope, schedule, and technical risks and communicate proactively to the project principalQUALIFICATIONSLicensed Architect required — Michigan registration or confirmed reciprocity eligibilityAIA membership and NCARB certification preferred8–18+ years total experience; 5+ years post-licensure experienceBreadth of experience across project phases and increasing leadership responsibilityHealthcare or institutional project experience preferredAdvanced proficiency in Revit and Auto CAD required; experience working within and contributing to project execution plansSpecification writing ability across multiple CSI divisions, growing toward authorship and review responsibilityDemonstrated track record of independent technical delivery and directing and developing junior staff
