Standards are set. Expectations are high. Your job is to make sure they're met, every day, no excuses.THE PROFILE OF A FLOOR COMMANDERAuthoritative presence - people know where they stand with youNon-negotiable on standards - 5S, safety, output, no exceptionsDecisive under pressure Comfortable with hard conversations - accountability over comfortData-driven operator - tracks KPIs, spots problems earlyCommand and clarity - instructions are heard and followedWhat You'll OwnLead and supervise a team of production workers - set expectations and hold themDrive daily, weekly, and monthly production targets with zero tolerance for preventable failuresEnforce 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and enforce them consistentlyConduct safety audits, address hazards immediately, and maintain a culture where safety is non-negotiableRun shift communications: production logs, KPI tracking, updates to management - nothing falls through the cracksOversee workforce training so every employee knows their role and performs it properlyCoordinate with maintenance to keep equipment running and downtime minimalImplement company Quality Assurance Procedures and Departmental Work Instructions to the letterThink you can run this floor? We'll know the difference.RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years in a production supervisor role within a manufacturing environmentProven track record of holding a team to high standards, not just setting themDeep knowledge of 5S safety principles and how to make them stick on a floorStrong analytical skills; ability to read data and make fast, sound decisionsProficient in production tracking software and MS OfficeHigh School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field preferredValid driver's license and reliable vehicle; occasional local travel requiredAbility and willingness to work overtime with your team when production calls for itPreferred But Not RequiredKnowledge of lean manufacturing principlesASME Y14.5 drawing reading proficiencyForklift certification and/or automotive mechanic experienceQS9000 knowledge and working experiencePhysical RequirementsThis position requires the employee to work comfortably and safely in an office and shop environment. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to work at heights approaching 30' above the floor from a stationary work platform. This position involves occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
