Position: Advanced Materials & Technology EngineerLocation: Etters, PAAmphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, highbandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Materials &Technology Engineer to join our team.RESPONSIBILITIES:As an Advanced Materials & Technology Engineer reporting to the Sr. EngineeringManager, you are responsible for the development, evaluation, and implementationof advanced materials and processes for interconnect technologies.Evaluate and assess new materials (polymers, metals, coatings, composites,etc.) and processes to support Amphenol's technology roadmap.Conduct lab- and pilot-scale experiments to prototype and validate emergingtechnologies and their processes for next generation designs.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product andprocess issues involving materials.Support material characterization, reliability testing, and performancebenchmarking.Collaborate with Development, NPI, Signal and Mechanical Integrity teams toidentify material challenges and translate findings into manufacturablesolutions.Engage in early-stage concept development to capture design needs, customerrequirements, and cost-reduction opportunities.Interface with suppliers, research labs, and universities to assess emergingmaterial and process technologies.Document technical findings, prepare reports, and communicaterecommendations to stakeholders in a detailed manner.Support technology transfer and scale-up of validated processes tomanufacturing teams.Supporting the development and validation of product design with flowsimulations using Moldflow, Moldex 3D or Sigmasoft.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (Master's or PhDpreferred).5+ years of experience in materials development, processing, or advancedmanufacturing (electronics/interconnect industry preferred).Curiosity-driven mindset with a passion for innovation and emergingtechnologiesExperience with solid modeling tools - Creo and/or SolidWorks and/or NX.Proficiency in polymer flow software like Moldflow, Sigmasoft and/or Moldex3D a plusExperience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Matlab, Minitab and/orOriginHands-on experience with materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM,DSC, TGA, DMA, FTIR, mechanical testing).Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to link materialproperties to performance.Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, plating, coatings,adhesives, composites) a plus.Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical findings toboth engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
