As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool, you will provide direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise and adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment.Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.Deliver quality nursing care through medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and improve outcomes.Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient results.Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.Engage with patients and families promptly to improve their experience and support health education.Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.EducationGraduation from an accredited nursing program is required.ExperienceOne year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.Certification and LicensureCurrent RN license valid in the state or Compact Licensure.Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Mental and Physical RequirementsThis role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected.
