This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional ethical standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families, all within established policies to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and communicate accurate information to the healthcare team.Document patient care activities and quality monitoring data efficiently to support compliance with core quality measures.Effectively communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.Engage patients and families with timely communication that promotes understanding and supports health outcomes.Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.Incorporate critical thinking into nursing practice and pursue ongoing professional development.Perform delegated tasks to maintain quality and enhance patient safety.EducationBachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; graduation from an accredited nursing program required.ExperienceAt least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.RequirementsCurrent RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.Mental and Physical DemandsRequires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.Working ConditionsExposure to infectious and communicable diseases, occasional encounters with hostile individuals, and minimal physical discomfort.
