Role: - Network Engineer 5Location: - (Hybrid) East Peoria, ILDuration: - 12 MonthsPosition's Contributions to Work Group As a LAN Analyst for the CAT Americas team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network-related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.This role will work with the LAN team to provide support for all CAT locations across the Americas.Typical Task Breakdown Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components as neededRespond as needed to support requests that relate to LAN development and supportProvide off-shift support for critical incidents. Team members rotate through an on-call schedule, requiring occasional off-shift and weekend support callsWork directly, as needed, with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructureDesign and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and supportFollow ITSM process and documentation for all changesCollaborate with other technical teams as needed to plan and execute changes (i.e., firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, etc.)Advise business partners regarding technical questions/issues in the LAN spaceEducation & Experience Required Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experienceTechnical Skills (Required) Computer-related or engineering-related four-year degree (or equivalent work experience)10+ years of progressively responsible roles in the Network Engineering spaceLAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching configurationFunctional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches and familiarity with Cisco equipmentAbility to work in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others in a positive mannerTechnical Skills (Desired) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Experience with automation technologies and scriptingExperience with DNA CenterWireless knowledge and experienceRelevant work experience with medium to large companiesSoft Skills (Required) Attention to detailEffective communication skillsDisqualifiers/Red Flags If the candidate does not reside in the Peoria, IL areaIf the resume does not list where the candidate currently resides, the resume will be DQ, no exceptions.If the candidate does not reside in local area but open to relocating on their own dime, please make sure to list that on the resume, or they will be DQ, no exceptions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
