You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network-related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.This role will collaborate with the Caterpillar LAN team and other technical teams to provide support for all Caterpillar locations across the Americas.Education & Experience Required:Years of experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible roles in the Network Engineering space.Degree requirement: Computer-related or engineering-related four-year degree (or equivalent work experience which then they need a minimum of 8 years of experience in this capacity)Required Technical Skills(Required)• LAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching configuration• Functional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches and familiarity with Cisco equipment• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others in a positive mannerOther Desirable Qualifications:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Experience with automation technologies and scriptingExperience with DNA Center (Catalyst Center)Wireless knowledge and experienceRelevant work experience with medium to large companiesDisqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications :Choppy tenureIf candidate is not already local to the area, please do not submit them. We will consider if we cannot find candidates in the area in this 1 st round.Typical task breakdown:• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components as needed• Respond as needed to support requests that relate to LAN development and support• Provide off-shift support for critical incidents. Team members rotate through an on-call schedule, requiring occasional off-shift and weekend support calls• Work directly, as needed, with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructure• Design and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and support• Follow ITSM process and documentation for all changes• Collaborate with other technical teams as needed to plan and execute changes (i.e., firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, etc.)• Advise business partners regarding technical questions/issues in the LAN spaceInteraction with team:
