Engineering Technician

Job DescriptionDescriptionSAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support various torpedo test equipment modernization and development efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and gain hands-on experience in the field. This position will be located on site at our Middletown, RI office.Responsibilities:Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support our customer's unique mission needsWork with key stakeholders to accomplish goals and objectives to support SAIC's project/program portfolioBuild awareness and experience of key capability skills in support of SAIC business effortsConduct data and process analysis to support development of key solutionsParticipate in team meetings and contribute to discussions in these technical fieldsTechnology Areas:* Mechanical Engineering: Utilization of CAD software to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for complex electromechanical parts and assemblies. Perform different engineering analyses on the overall design which can include FEA, tolerance stack-up, reliability, design for manufacturing, and design for assemblyQualificationsQualifications:High School DiplomaExperience using CAD software for the development of 3D models and 2D drawingsSolidWorks is the in-house CAD platform usedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Have a passion for a career in technologyU.S. CitizenOverviewSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.SAIC is a premier Fortune 500 mission integrator focused on advancing the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world.
