Quality Engineer
Role Overview
Operating with a high degree of autonomy under the guidance of senior quality leadership, this Quality Engineer II role focuses on the creation and execution of strategic quality programs. These initiatives are designed to bolster business workflows, enhance manufacturing throughput, and guarantee strict adherence to both internal standards and external regulatory mandates.
You will be tasked with managing the flow of information, the deployment of quality management frameworks, and the upkeep of essential documentation and data. Furthermore, this role provides critical support to production teams by verifying that quality standards are upheld, assessing non-conforming materials, and spearheading the development of robust corrective measures. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary quality representative on multidisciplinary teams to embed contractual and system-level requirements into all project documentation and processes.
Translate and relay complex quality expectations to manufacturing, engineering, and supplier partners to ensure alignment.
Create comprehensive quality plans, certification strategies, and performance metrics for smaller programs to guarantee full regulatory and customer compliance.
Perform evaluations of supplier capabilities and process validations to assist in the qualification and selection of vendors.
Engage in manufacturing and testing preparation, which includes performing audits, inspections, and detailed process analyses.
Track and interpret non-conformance data to pinpoint recurring trends and measure the success of implemented solutions.
Manage the documentation and disposition of non-conforming items through the formal Material Review Board (MRB) protocol.
Propose and execute corrective measures to resolve quality discrepancies and stop them from happening again.
Drive initiatives that improve product quality and process efficiency to help boost overall production output and customer satisfaction.
Partner with cross-functional departments and external suppliers to troubleshoot quality concerns and refine operational processes.
Keep all quality-related records, data sets, and documentation organized and up to date.
Verify that all quality documentation and procedures remain in strict accordance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
Foster a workplace environment that prioritizes accountability, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to quality protocols.
Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by keeping the workspace tidy and following all required safety and PPE guidelines.
Qualifications and Background
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as Materials Science, Engineering, or Chemistry, is preferred.
Candidates without a degree may be considered if they possess at least 5 years of relevant engineering or quality experience that demonstrates mastery of the required duties.
At least 3 years of hands-on professional experience within a quality engineering or similar capacity.
Prior experience working within a composites manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems is preferred.
Experience with quality metrics, process validation, auditing, and non-conformance management is highly valued.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to help the team identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Proficiency in written and verbal English to ensure clear and professional communication.
Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and multidisciplinary teams.
