Sales Manager

Job PurposeWorking with the engineering team, the Sales Manager will interface with current and prospective customers and act as a technical expert to obtain and define specifications and requirements. The primary objective is to exploit the application of Angstrom Electric technology in an effort to increase the differentiation of Angstrom Electric’s customer base. The position will guide Angstrom Electric engineering efforts across internal departments so as to ensure that product solutions meet customer and market requirements. Coordinate the overall sales and commercial activities for assigned accounts. Develop an overall strategic approach to win new business opportunities. This includes the development of pricing strategies that further encourage customers to take advantage of Angstrom technology and highquality product offerings. Manage the process of quotations, RFQs, Sales Orders, ECNs, continuous improvement and product life cycle. Support new product launches, monitor overall customer requirements, and identify issues that may affect customer satisfaction and revenue attainment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGrow Angstrom Electric’s business consistent with strategies regarding sales, profitability, and product diversification.Aggressively pursue and develop new business opportunities for existing and new products by building and maintaining trust-based relationships throughout the sales and product life cycle and by continuously demonstrating a commitment to providing exemplary customer satisfaction.Regularly visit customers to develop excellent relationships with key contacts. Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of Angstrom Electric products in order to articulate technology and product positioning.Manage, coordinate, and monitor all customer activities with a focus on speed, responsiveness, and a commitment to excellence.Acquire information and data on emerging industry and technology trends and remain familiar with competitive activity in the marketplace. Communicate directly with customer technical teams in order to provide an understanding of Angstrom technologies and products, and adapt presentations to the technical level of the audience.Collaborate with Angstrom Electric Engineering and Operations to identify and create winning sales strategies and new product opportunities. Develop creative approaches and conduct extensive analysis, planning, and organization to eliminate sales obstacles and achieve target objectives. Act and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally. Lead all commercial activities which include managing quotations from start to finish, obtaining executive approvals to proceed, value stream option evaluations, constantly tracking progress, support of cost model preparation, margin evaluation and management approvals, providing breakdowns to the customer, and conducting all the required negotiations.Track and manage all quotations while reporting out the status on a consistent basis to the management team.Negotiates and manages piece price, tooling price, ED&D price, prototype price, validation price, customer cost reduction initiatives, and other contract imperatives for the program and develops customer wide strategiesAligns customer communications with Angstrom policies, philosophy, structure, capabilities, business plans, and strategy. Work to ensure customers view Angstrom as innovative, proactive, and capable. Cultivate and maintain appropriate customer relationships with key customer individuals. Understand and report changes to customer process/structure/decision makersAssist to establish objectives, develop strategies, and ensure their implementation to achieve company goalsForecast customer direction; market demand; competitor activities; Angstrom’s competitive position (i.e. capabilities, offering of value solutions, price, quality, market perception); and consider corporate and group strategy in the formulation of growth opportunities for both the assigned program and the customer.Generate new business opportunities. Remain knowledgeable of Angstrom product offerings and trends, customer business strategy, and assess validity and relevance of opportunities to group and corporate strategies. Define and communicate customer requirements to the team and management (Sales, Engineering, Costing, Operations Management). Work closely with the Engineering and Costing teams to build strategies for commercial, technical, and manufacturing targets.Independently prioritize the completion of tasks and resolution of issues to ensure compliance to program objectives and commercial targets. Serve as the lead on program commercial strategy and issues closure.Assure timely and accurate documentation of sales and marketing deliverables as established, per the business process. Ensure timely flow of business documents between the customer and Angstrom. Review, validate, and confirm documented and contractual agreements meet sales and finance guidelines and requirements. Maintain program pricing documentation and tracking for assigned programs.Support Finance in customer purchasing related collection issues and follow-up with customer to resolve and align with A/R targetsSupport development of Inside Sales positionSupport Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location(s)Mentor other team members on the process and system requirements.Company Expectation of EmployeeMinimum of Five (5) years of experience with significant interface in automotive sales or program managementVery strong interpersonal and presentation skills with an agility to respond to customers’ real-time inputs, requests, and application issues.Working knowledge of relevant cost models and supplier costs, including manufacturing processes, material costs, and material processing.Ability to develop and prepare Strategic Business ProposalsAbility to apply sales and marketing techniques in the generation of new business opportunities.Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and technical presentations.Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and manage multiple tasksProficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.Valid driver’s licenseSelf-driven, motivated, high-energy level, integrity, and professionalism with a positive can-do attitude.Company Expectation of EmployeeAdheres to Company Policy and ProceduresActs as a role model within and outside the CompanyPerforms duties as workload necessitates Maintains a positive and respectful attitudeCommunicates regularly with supervisor about departmental issues Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
