This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry Level Civil Engineer (Renewables) to be involved in our Power & Energy projects within our Site Development Civil Team- Renewable Energy in Cincinnati, OH. In the U.S, WSP was recognized on TIME's list of the world's best companies and Fortune's Change the World list.As part of our team, you will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and endless opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.Your ImpactSupport renewable energy site development project which emphasis on Solar, Wind, and BESS facilities along with supporting behind the meter generation for commercial and industrial clients.Perform and develop methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, hydrologic analysis, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.Perform professional civil engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, and transportation channels to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.Support development of sites and permitting plans for various projects within the energy sector including electrical transmission, solar and onshore wind projects.Support development of civil, erosion and sediment control, drainage/stormwater and utility designs.Support development of permit application documents, engineering design plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates.This position requires field visits to local sites and the potential for a small amount of overnight travel.Coordinate with clients and governmental agencies to fulfill the needs of the project and acquire all necessary permits or approvalsSupport development and scoping of medium-sized projects.Support guidance and training to entry-level engineers.Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or closely related discipline.1+ years of relevant post education experience in renewable energy engineering and prior civil design experience.Leadership and communication skills required.Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication skills, both written and verbal.Task management skillsProficiency in AutoCAD experience requiredWorking knowledge of site grading, stormwater, and erosion and sedimentation controls is requiredUnderstanding of stormwater permitting (NPDES). Multi-state knowledge a plus.Working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.Ability to direct others in the field to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.This position has the potential for a small amount of travel.This position may require fieldwork, sometimes in rugged terrain.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Preferred Qualifications:Engineer in Training Certification.Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.Past experience on site development projects renewable energy project and client facing.Master's Degree in Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer, Texas, Ohio, Illinois preferred, NCEES record a plusStrong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D Software SuiteStrong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D/LDD and familiarity with grading and earthwork concepts.Task management experienceWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
