Jr. Accountant - Global Freight Forwarder (36215)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Jr. Accounting professional to join our team in Jericho, NY. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. This is a direct hire, full time and 100% onsite work setting.Jr. Accountant Key Responsibilities:Manage credit control and monitor customer accountsHandle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processesPerform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial recordsCommunicate and collaborate with HQ accounting team (5 staff members)Liaise with local branch offices, operations teams, and branch managers via email and phoneLearn and utilize internal accounting system (CODA) to run reports and post journal entriesReview shipment data using systems such as Descartes (ONEVIEW) and CargoWiseCoordinate overseas settlements with international offices and agentsAssist with financial reporting and support the Accounting ManagerJr. Accountant Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)Proficiency in English (written and verbal)Japanese language skill is a big asset but not mandatoryStrong skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Word, and OutlookStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentExperience in freight forwarding or logistics industry is preferredFamiliarity with CargoWise, Descartes (ONEVIEW), or similar systemsExperience with accounting systems (e.g., CODA)Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions / Renaissance Resources Inc. has been a trusted leader in North American recruiting for Japanese businesses for over 25 years.
