Senior Core Java/Angular Software Engineer (Java, Spring Boot & Microservices)Location: Reston, VA (2-3 days a week on-site)Salary: 160–180K + 10% PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE LOCAL....Must Have the Following:5–7+ years of Java 17+ and Spring Boot developmentExperience building Microservices and REST APIsAgile/Scrum and DevSecOps experienceCI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShiftJUnit 5, Mockito, and Cucumber testingGit, Maven, IntelliJStrong SQL and API development experienceExperience with messaging (JMS), transaction management, and distributed systemsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)Authorized to work in the United StatesResponsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain Java 17+ applications using Spring Boot.Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.Develop secure, high-performance enterprise software following DevSecOps best practices.Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.Convert business requirements into technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.Develop automated unit, integration, and behavioral tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Cucumber.Implement CI/CD pipelines and support automated deployments.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, scalability, and application performance.Optimize Java applications through performance tuning, memory management, and multithreading techniques.Support production applications and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.Develop technical documentation and application support materials.Mentor teammates while helping drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)5–7 years of professional software engineering experienceExpert-level Java 17+ and Spring Boot developmentStrong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patternsExperience building REST APIs and distributed microservicesStrong testing background using JUnit 5, Mockito, and CucumberIntelliJ and Maven experienceGit source control experienceKnowledge of OAuth2/OpenID Connect securityExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShiftCI/CD experience with Jenkins or similar toolsExperience with SQL databases; Liquibase is a plusFamiliarity with JMS messagingExperience with transaction management, thread safety, retries, circuit breakers, and idempotencyExperience with Angular or TypeScript is preferredKnowledge of UNIX/RHEL scripting is a plusFinancial services or mortgage industry experience is preferredExcellent communication and collaboration skillsMust be authorized to work in the United States
