Controller

Our client is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to partner closely with executive leadership and serve as a key liaison with corporate finance in shaping the strategic direction of the business. This individual will play an active role in driving operational performance by digging into financial issues, identifying root causes, and presenting solutions aligned with broader business objectives.The ideal candidate is a proactive financial leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working cross-functionally to improve financial visibility, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.Oversee the daily operations of the accounting function, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.Manage inventory valuation in collaboration with production and operations teams.Analyze profitability across products, projects, and business segments.Implement and enhance costing methodologies to ensure accurate job costing from estimate through completion.Develop and analyze product costing while monitoring direct and indirect costs in partnership with manufacturing teams.Review customer credit limits and payment terms in coordination with sales, following internal guidelines and third-party credit data.Support human resources coordination across corporate and operational teams.Partner with human resources on payroll administration, employee benefits, and insurance-related matters.Prepare long-range financial forecasts, including short-term forecast reporting and growth scenario planning.Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and support operational excellence.Coordinate year-end audit activities and prepare financial information required for tax filings.Lead the implementation of an integrated enterprise resource planning system.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.Professional certification or advanced business degree is a plus.Experience in a manufacturing environment required; industry-specific experience is a plus.Strong background in cost accounting, including job cost analysis and actual-versus-estimate review, preferred.Proficiency with standard business productivity tools.Experience working with an enterprise resource planning system is an asset.Highly detail-oriented, rigorous, and able to perform effectively under pressure.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
