Pulmonologist Physician Advisor to Healthcare Venture Capital Fund

About Us Healthcare Shares is a Healthcare Venture Capital fund investing broadly in social-impact healthcare startups across care delivery innovation, virtual care, specialty diagnostics, AI clinical tools, population health, remote monitoring, and value-based care.Role Overview Pulmonology Physician Advisors will support our investment diligence process by evaluating startups through the lens of respiratory care complexity, chronic and acute pulmonary disease management, home-based monitoring feasibility, ventilatory safety, and scalable care-delivery models. While our investment scope spans the full digital health landscape, pulmonologists provide essential perspective on lung-specific diagnostics, oxygen-therapy continuity, ventilator oversight, sleep-respiratory technology, and longitudinal COPD/asthma management.Core Responsibilities • Conduct clinical review of technologies impacting respiratory diagnostics, AI-assisted lung imaging, asthma/COPD care platforms, ventilatory monitoring, oxygen-therapy continuity, and sleep-respiratory devices • Validate clinical safety, usability, claims accuracy, remote-monitoring fidelity, and pulmonary workflow integration • Assess scalability of respiratory care pathways including acute-to-post-acute transitions, home-ventilation readiness, oxygen delivery logistics, and pulmonary rehab models • Support due diligence by reviewing clinical data, patient-safety standards, regulatory pathways, adherence systems, and payer alignment for respiratory therapeutics and devices • Provide pulmonology expertise to ensure real-world feasibility, risk stratification, and outcome improvement across lung-health innovation and respiratory platform modelsIdeal Qualifications • Board-certified Pulmonologist (Critical Care background welcome but not required) • Experience with ventilatory management, oxygen platforms, COPD/asthma therapeutics, sleep-respiratory technology, or pulmonary diagnostics • Familiarity with payer criteria, value-based pulmonary care, and remote monitoring reimbursement models • Interest in digital health, innovation, and early-stage technology evaluationCompensation This is an advisor-level role with flexible involvement, compensated through equity participation and/or carried interest in selected portfolio investments.
