Sr. Electrical Engineer, Ring Hardware

DescriptionAs a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate electrical systems for Ring devices and services. You will lead complex technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative hardware solutions that delight our customers. You will also leverage AI tools and methodologies to enhance electrical design processes and outcomes.Key job responsibilities- Lead electrical hardware development projects from concept through production- Design and develop analog and digital circuits for consumer electronics- Create and review schematics and PCB layouts- Develop power management solutions and power distribution networks- Implement high-speed digital interfaces and ensure signal integrity- Design for EMI/EMC compliance and conduct pre-compliance testing- Develop electrical test plans and validation procedures- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams- Document designs, test results, and technical specifications- Evaluate new components and technologies for future products- Manage relationships with external vendors and manufacturing partners- Apply AI tools and techniques to optimize electrical designs and processes- Collaborate with data scientists to develop AI-driven solutions for electrical engineering challengesAbout the teamThe Ring Accessories Hardware Development team creates the devices that millions of customers use every day. We are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance our design processes, optimize product performance, and create more innovative solutions.Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field- Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout- Experience in hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools- Experience in problem solving and data analytics- 5+ years of experience in electrical design and development- Experience with analog and digital circuit design- Knowledge of power management and power supply design- Understanding of signal integrity and high-speed design principles- Basic understanding of AI concepts and applications in electrical engineering- Experience using AI-assisted design tools for circuit optimizationPreferred Qualifications- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production- Experience with embedded systems- Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools- Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)- Experience in technical leadership of development, testing, and implementation of large-scale, complex technology projects- Experience in mentoring, leading, or managing more junior engineers- Knowledge of wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular)- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (FCC, CE)- Advanced knowledge of machine learning applications in electrical design optimization- Experience implementing AI for automated test pattern generation or fault diagnosis- Ability to collaborate with data scientists to develop custom AI solutions for electrical engineering problems- Experience with AI-driven circuit simulation and optimization- Knowledge of how to integrate sensor data with AI/ML models for electrical systemsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
