Job DescriptionTac Granite is the largest natural stone supplier in Southwest Florida. Our extensive inventory consists of over 10,000 granite slabs, marble, quartz, quartzite, and porcelain. Tac Granite distributes natural and manufactured slabs to licensed Fabricators and Contractors in Florida. The company is looking for a warehouse supervisor to join our team.WAREHOUSE SUPERVISORMain responsibility:To ensure that all yards, warehouse activities, and employees represent TAC Granite in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.REPORTS TO: Operations Manager Diane BelloJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees day-to-day operations of the yard/warehouse department, including coordinating the flow of weekly work assignments. Responsible for ensuring all yard activities including but not limited to deliveries, transfers, offloading containers, and handling client concerns or questions are handled in a safe, efficient, and professional manner and meets all of TAC Granite’s standards of excellence. Responsible for ensuring the yard/warehouse department has processes in place to support timely and accurate deliveries, transfers, containers, customer requests, and all other duties as assigned. Manage department staff, support staff development, and problem resolution. Coach staff on maintaining a safe, friendly, and professional work environment that meets the company’s standards. Manage department tools, trucks, and forklifts and ensure all areas are well-maintained and meet safety standards. BENEFITS:401(K) Matching Paid Time OffLOADING TRUCKSDeliveries are a priority. Always ensure that your drivers go into the office to grab delivery paperwork first thing in the morning. Go over paperwork with the drivers if necessary (check for specific notes on the paperwork).Make sure ALL drivers are loading their trucks in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.Ensure that all trucks are loaded correctly and accurately. Check slabs prior to delivery and check for space in between slabs (this will damage the material if not loaded/stacked properly), check for accuracy of inventory loaded on the truck, and advise your direct point of contact, Diane, of any mistakes/concerns and how to proceed.This person is responsible for ensuring that all deliveries make it out on time, are accurate, and for keeping track of how long a driver is out.OFFLOADING TRUCKSAlways check trucks for transfers and returns. Check all returning material to ensure it doesn’t have any issues, doesn’t have any missing tags, and that the proper paperwork has been filled out (i.e. a return form).Place ALL returns/transfers back where they belong; if unsure check in at the office. CONTAINERS, LOADING, OFFLOADING, MOVING SLABSEveryone’s safety is a priority! Always look for clients and other employees. ALWAYS look BEFORE backing up a forklift or truck, and make sure all yard/warehouse employees always have the proper tools (gloves on, steel-toed boots at all times). Clients do not know what safety concerns to look for, it is TAC Granite employee’s job to look out for them. Never move materials for anyone other than a TAC Granite employee unless otherwise directed by a supervisor. NEW INVENTORYBefore opening bundles and moving them, talk to Diane about product placement.TIME OFF, APPOINTMENTS, CALLING OFFProvide Diane with a list of all yard/warehouse employees' telephone numbers. All vacation time will need to be approved by Diane after initial contact with the yard supervisor.Appointment times will need to be requested at least a week prior to the appointment.Calling off creates more work for everyone in the department so please monitor all calling off requests and inform Diane of any concerns or issues before 8:00 AM.INVENTORYThis person is responsible for ensuring all inventory is accurate. This includes checking trucks for accuracy before they leave our location, checking that all the proper paperwork is filled out when a material is returned/transferred, and ensuring that damaged slabs are re-measured and a damaged form is filled out. REPORT ANY INVENTORY ISSUES TO DIANE IMMEDIATELY.DEALING WITH CUSTOMERSPlease refrain from answering client questions. Always refer clients to the front office. If a client has a question or concern and they don’t want to come to the office inform a sales rep immediately.Never open slabs for a client without a sales rep present.Never answer questions about sales, holds, inventory, cracks etc. for clients. Always refer them to a sales rep.If a client comes before or after hours, please inform them that we are taking clients by appointment between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and refer them to contact the office.Warehouse Priorities:Open all doors before 8:00 amUnloading of containersLoading trucks for Deliveries (All invoices and paperwork are in a drawer by the front desk office)Loading trucks for TransfersMoving Slabs for ClientsMoving Slabs off racksWAREHOUSE CLEANING AND FLIPPING SLABS:Every Friday after lunch make sure all the slabs are flipped and returned to their place if they have been removed or opened for a customer selection,Make sure all the warehouses are clean and organized, (leaves, wood with nails, trash, everything must be clean!)No wood or any other materials, including cars, trucks, and forklifts, can not be against the fence of the telephone tower. All wood must be disposed of once the dumpster is fullMake sure we have all the nails removed from the ground after cleaning the containerTools must be often maintained and in good condition to work properlyOnce a month on the first or 15 of every month and the forklifts and trucks must be checked about fluids and straps, tires air conditioner, and bolts)Drivers need to check trucks daily. Any services need to be communicated to the yard manager. All equipment to unload containers needs to be checked daily. Once a month or the first of every month, the truck and the forklift must be washedMake sure all doors are locked before leaving each dayMake sure all trucks are locked before leaving each dayMake sure all equipment is stored and locked. All tools must be organized in the storage roomMake sure all Team Members are using proper safety gear (Steel toe show, gloves, and safety glasses)No personal cell phones outsideDriver needs to flip slabs and put them back on the right A-frameNO SMOKING near the forklifts or inside the warehousesUniform to be worn dailyTime off must be requested two (2) weeks in advancePHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
