Director of Affiliate Operations

The Director of Affiliate Operations serves as the chief operational and leader of Habitat for Humanity of Southern Ocean County (HFHSOC). Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Director bears responsibility for stewarding the organization's mission, strengthening its infrastructure, and guiding its growth with clarity and purpose. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the Affiliate's operations. The scope of this role may evolve in response to organizational needs and strategic direction.Key ResponsibilitiesOrganizational Leadership & GovernanceGuide the day-to-day management of HFHSOCCollaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans and policiesEvaluate and strengthen operational systems, procedures, and infrastructureServe as the primary liaison to partner families, community stakeholders, and civic leadersAssist ReStore and construction operations for alignment with mission and performance goalsFundraising & Resource DevelopmentDirect all grant writing, reporting, and compliance activitiesDesign and implement comprehensive fundraising strategiesCultivate meaningful relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundationsIdentify and pursue new revenue streams and sponsorship opportunitiesSupport and expand major gift and event-based fundraising initiativesMarketing, Outreach & Volunteer EngagementOversee marketing strategy, branding, social media, and public communicationsStrengthen community awareness of Habitat's mission and programsBuild partnerships with local businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, and community leadersDevelop and implement strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize volunteersRepresent HFHSOC at public events, networking engagements, and speaking opportunitiesCompliance & Financial StewardshipMaintain sound financial oversight in collaboration with the Treasurer and BoardEnsure compliance with HFHI requirements and reporting obligationsOversee accurate documentation, internal controls, and regulatory adherenceMaintain Federal and State Qualified Loan Originator certificationMonitor partner family mortgage payments and perform annual escrow analysesQualificationsBachelor's degree desirableDemonstrated leadership or management experienceFundraising and grant development experience desirableExperience supervising staff and working with volunteersBackground in budget management and financial oversightFamiliarity with Habitat for Humanity missionExemplary written and verbal communication skillsComfort with QuickBooks desirableAbility to manage multiple priorities and engage diverse stakeholdersEstablished relationships with community leaders and potential funders, or the ability to createCore CompetenciesStrategic thinkerTrusted relationship-builder and community connectorOrganized, detail-oriented, and compliance-mindedSelf-directed and proactiveMission-driven advocate for affordable homeownershipCompensation* Salary commensurate with experience and qualificationsEmployment Status: Full-Time (35 - 40 hours/week; flexible schedule including some core in person hours Tues - Fri; some evenings/weekends required)Location: HFHSOC Office (West Creek, NJ) / Hybrid RemoteTo apply, send a resume including references to [email protected] No Phone Calls#LI-aff
