$18-$22/hrAs a Maintenance Worker you’ll play a key role in keeping our facilities running safely andefficiently. This is a safety-sensitive position that involves operating heavy equipment such as overheadcranes and forklifts, requiring a strong commitment to safe work practices. Your work will span building andgrounds upkeep, tool maintenance, carpentry, and plumbing. You’ll maintain tool crib inventory, coordinateuniform maintenance with third parties, and ensure the upkeep and 5S of your maintenance area ofresponsibility. You’ll also work with purchasing new parts and tools, and manage third-party repair requests.This role calls for a proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork. Bymaintaining reliable operations, you’ll help Alfa Laval continue pioneering positive impact through sustainableperformance and technical excellence.JOB DUTIES:• Maintains ground by picking up debris, trimming trees, mowing grass, dumping scrap and trashhoppers from factory, landscaping grounds, and heavy equipment operations.• Maintains facilities by performing carpentry work, replacing light bulbs, and performs other duties asassigned.• Helps control vegetation and growth; prepares, applies and properly disposes of herbicides.• Operates a variety of mowing equipment.• Apply correct methods and practices in preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and minorconstruction of buildings and utilities.• Troubleshoot and resolve incoming problems, communicating with your Team Leader or Managerwhen additional support is needed.• Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out processes and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.• Notify management and/or the HS&E specialist of any safety risks or repairs required.• Provide necessary materials to various workstations and locations to support ongoing operations.• Understand and prioritize work plans to complete assignments with high quality and timeliness.• Select and safely use a variety of hand, power, and specialty tools for maintenance tasks.• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and tools, and examining partsfor wear or damage.• Repair of pneumatic and powered hand tools.• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by monitoring stock levels and anticipating needs.• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.• Assist other trade personnel as needed to support team success.• Keep the workplace organized during tasks and ensure it is returned to its original condition after workis completed.• All employees are expected to prioritize safety, regardless of role. This includes strict adherence tocompany-wide safety policies and procedures, proactive promotion of safe practices, and addressingunsafe behaviors or conditions in a constructive and positive manner.• Employees expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation towardcolleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors.• Full compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures is required to maintain a respectful, safe,and productive work environment.ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES that maybe required of some Team Members:• Perform general electrical work, including testing electrical components and taking equipmentreadings with various tools and meters to determine necessary repairs.• Assess critical power loads and requirements for power sources and generators, using load charts,calculators, amp and volt meters to ensure user needs for electrical and backup power are met.• Repair and conduct preventive maintenance on CNC controllers to ensure reliable operation.• Perform weld repairs to equipment, achieving quality and safety levels that exceed originalspecifications.• Demonstrate professionalism and cooperation in interactions with fellow employees, customers,vendors, and visitors.• Contribute to individual and company performance improvement through ongoing education andparticipation in process improvement activities.• Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements, proactively encouraging safebehavior and addressing unsafe conditions in a positive manner.• Comply with all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.• Follow directions and instructions, seeking clarification when needed to ensure tasks are completedcorrectly.• Assist Lead or Supervisor with various tasks as required to support team objectives.• Cross-train in other areas or departments to enhance versatility and support operational needs.• Help train new employees under the guidance of the Team Leader or Manager.• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift and upon completion of work.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS:• High school diploma or GED required.• Valid Driver’s License required.• Basic math skills required including ability to read a tape measure.• Prior maintenance experience preferred.• Forklift and scissor lift operation experience preferred.• Overhead crane and host experience preferred.• Mowing/Tractor experience preferred.• Overtime and minimal local travel (KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES:• Accuracy- Job completion meets specifications.• Timeliness- Prioritizes jobs and preventative maintenance to maintain scheduled work flow.• Communication- Communicates effectively with all levels of employees informing employees, Leads andSupervisors estimated timelines and job completion.• Customer Service - Resolves concerns and complaints in a pro-active manner with limited assistancefrom Lead or Supervisor.EQUIPMENT USED:• Forklift• Crane, hoists, etc.• Tape measure, scale, straight edge, hand tools, etc.• Welding equipment – cutting torch• Scissor Lift• Tractor• Leaf blower• Nail gunPHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSPhysical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use):• Regularly exert up to 75 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently• Stand or walk for 80% of the workday• Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.• Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces• Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength• Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks• Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions• Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a workenvironmentEnvironmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure):• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs• Exposure to various weather conditions cold or hot, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise levels.
