Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be able to pass EKG testing before the start date. Must have a minimum of 2 years of current nursing experience. Travelers requesting time off during any holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated. Candidates should ensure that their home address matches the information on their RN license. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in medical surgical and telemetry care. The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients. The daily patient census is approximately 33. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with potential increases when utilizing team nursing models. Float requirements may include working in other hospital areas. The nurse will be expected to provide care for patients with a variety of conditions, including pneumonia, respiratory failure, COPD exacerbations, congestive heart failure exacerbations, COVID-19, and sepsis. Skills required include the management of ports, blood product administration, central line care, respiratory management, telemetry monitoring, and wound care. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend or two weekends per month. This position may also involve interdisciplinary support from various healthcare teams. Candidates must maintain current certifications and renew them in time if they are nearing expiration. Travel nurses must adhere to floating policies and be orientated to the new unit as needed. Travel teams that are related or married cannot work on the same unit.
