Job Description Tampa Bay Area Counseling, the largest private mental health practice in Tampa Bay, is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for our Palm Harbor office. This is a W-2 PRN position with the option to grow into full-time with benefits.You'll enjoy private office space, a Monday through Friday schedule—no weekends—and full administrative support. A collaborating physician is provided to support your practice. Join a collaborative team of over 30 counselors dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.Compensation:$48 - $51 hourlyResponsibilities:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessmentsDiagnose and treat mental health disorders across the lifespanPrescribe and manage psychiatric medications in compliance with state lawsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the care teamMonitor patient progress and adjust treatment as neededProvide patient education regarding medications, mental health conditions, and wellness strategiesCollaborate closely with therapists, counselors, and a supervising physician to ensure integrated careMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with legal and ethical standardsParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultationsStay current with best practices and continuing education in psychiatric careAdhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all timesQualifications:Current, active Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificationCurrent National Certification as a PMHNP from a recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC)Valid Florida Controlled Substance Registration and DEA license to prescribe medicationsMaster's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric mental healthExperience in psychiatric medication management and mental health treatmentStrong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skillsExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standardsFamiliarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation requirementsWillingness to engage in ongoing professional development and continuing educationAbout CompanyTampa Bay Area Counseling is a unique, therapist-owned and operated mental health practice founded by counselors with 20+ years of experience.
