Hey — Let's find your next opportunity Barrel is currently looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join our team. As a remote-first company, you may work from anywhere in the U.S. The Tech Lead is responsible for technical project success and works closely with project team members to ensure that our technical solutions are delivered on time and under budget. While writing code and understanding of the software development lifecycle is a prerequisite for the role, a large part of your time will be spent architecting an approach, working with the team to plan sprints, writing tickets for engineers to execute, reviewing and testing their code, interfacing with QA team, and managing deployments. While this is not a hands‐on development role, you must have a strong technical understanding of Shopify, third‐party integrations, and custom development approaches to guide project execution effectively. You will proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, collaborating with engineers, designers, QA, and stakeholders to keep projects on track. This role would be on an ongoing, retainer basis. Projects include e‐commerce experiences, web/mobile apps, extending visual guidelines to new assets, and research and applying ecommerce best practices to all designs. As a designer at Barrel, you carry the responsibility to not only ideate and execute on creative and intelligent design concepts but to lead by example, motivate other team members, and therefore, reach the highest standards of work.
