Experienced Legal SecretaryDepartment: Global - USAEmployment Type: PermanentLocation: Los AngelesCompensation: $80,000 - $95,000 / yearDescriptionDAC Beachcroft is building out our newly-opened Los Angeles office, and we're hiring an experienced Legal Secretary to support two senior attorneys as they grow the practice. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the operational backbone of the office. You'll manage filings, draft and finalize documents, keep matters moving, and free up the attorneys to focus on legal work.If you've supported senior Partners in a US litigation practice, know your way around California court filings, and want to be part of a firm that's investing in its US expansion, we'd like to hear from you.The roleYou'll provide end-to-end support to two senior attorneys, covering everything from court filings and document preparation to calendar management and client communication.Legal document and case supportPrepare, draft, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, discovery responses, notices, and correspondenceManage California state and federal court filings end-to-end, including e-filing platforms, formatting compliance, service lists, cover sheets, fee schedules, and local rulesServe as the point of contact for court clerks on filings, orders, and status updatesAssemble exhibit sets and prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of AuthoritiesRedact confidential information and ensure submissions are accurateMatter managementOpen new matters and run conflicts checksTrack litigation deadlines and maintain a master matter listEnsure all documents and communications are properly stored in the firm's document management systemAttorney and practice supportManage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings, travel, and logisticsRun monthly time entry, pre-bills, billing, and collections follow-upCoordinate office operations, expense reporting, and vendor managementClient and stakeholder communicationServe as the point of contact between attorneys, clients, court personnel, process servers, and opposing counselMaintain a high standard of professionalism, responsiveness, and discretionWhat we're looking forEssentialExperience supporting a senior partner or executive in a law firm, litigation practice, or legal departmentStrong working knowledge of California court filing requirements, including e-filing, physical lodging, service requirements, and clerk communicationsProven experience drafting, formatting, and managing legal documentsStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software platformsAbility to manage competing priorities calmly under deadline pressureExcellent written and verbal communicationSound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independentlyWillingness to work on-site 4 to 5 days per week initiallyProfessional presentation, including on video callsUseful but not essentialParalegal experience or paralegal-adjacent trainingFamiliarity with iManage, Intapp, or similar legal practice management systemsExperience supporting multiple attorneys concurrentlyWho you areYou're proactive, organized, and detail-driven.
