The company focuses on high-quality, personalized designs rather than templates, helping clients save time and money while moving efficiently from concept to construction.Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Design Drafter at OUTDRAFT Design & Drafting. The Design Drafter will produce accurate technical drawings and blueprints for residential and light commercial projects, including new builds, additions, and renovations. Responsibilities include translating design concepts and sketches into detailed CAD drawings, developing architectural and engineering plans, and preparing permit-ready construction documents. The role involves collaborating with designers, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements, incorporate feedback, and update plans throughout the project lifecycle. The Design Drafter will also review drawings for code compliance, dimensional accuracy, and constructability, while maintaining organized project files and meeting deadlines.Qualifications Construction field experience. Ensuring you know framing components, aspects, and hardware.Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and workflows, with the ability to produce precise, professional construction documents.Strong skills in Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, details, and standard drafting conventions.Experience creating Architectural Drawings and general Drawing layouts for plans, elevations, sections, and details.Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality control, and code-compliant documentation.Ability to interpret design concepts, building codes, and client requirements and translate them into clear, buildable plans.Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote team environment.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Certificate, diploma, or degree in drafting, architecture, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with residential or light commercial construction and familiarity with local building codes is preferred.
