The successful candidate will support student success by directing instrumental ensembles, including Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band. This role involves a commitment to excellent teaching, student mentoring, and active participation in campus activities.COMPENSATION: Full-Time, special non-tenure track position. To find more information and resources, visit: https://www.commerce.nd.gov/workforce/relocation-resourcesKey Responsibilities:Directing instrumental ensembles, including Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep BandPreparing music for BSC eventsRecruiting students for performance ensemblesMay also include teaching courses such as Music Theory I & II, Aural Skills I & II, Applied Lessons, Music Appreciation, and World MusicFacilitating State and Regional music festivalsParticipation in professional organizations such as NDMEAAssessing studentsCommittee workCoordination with ensemble instructors,Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Appropriate music-related master's degreeDemonstrated successful experience with conducting concert bands or other large ensemblesDocumented successful experience with private music lessonsDocumented successful experience with recruiting collegiate studentsDocumented successful experience directing pep bandAbility to work cooperatively with diverse groups and ability to work as a team memberExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsGood working knowledge of computer software programs (i.e., Microsoft Office, email, & electronic calendar - Outlook)Creative in using a variety of teaching resources, media, and instructional technologiesPreferred QualificationsEarned doctorate (PhD or DMA)Experience with distance delivery of coursesCollege teaching experienceActive member in a state organization such as NDMEAExperience with community and school outreach for musicExperience with a wide range of repertoire (i.e., classical, contemporary, multicultural, etc.)Experience with concert planning, budgeting, and event coordinationADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
