Research Operations Producer II (Playtest Recruiting)

As a Research Operations Producer II (Contractor) you will work with the GRO team as the first dedicated owner of player recruiting operations for playtests and qualitative research studies. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with meaningful ownership and autonomy, designed to stabilize and mature recruiting workflows that are currently distributed across multiple operations staff.You will manage end-to-end recruiting delivery while helping define standards, documentation, and quality signals that enable consistency at scale. This role supports both in-person and remote studies and works closely with researchers, operations partners, and external vendors. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at the Los Angeles campus 2-3 days per week.Responsibilities:Own end-to-end participant recruiting for playtests and qualitative research studies, including intake alignment, feasibility assessment, scheduling, confirmations, and show-rate managementManage player communications at scale, ensuring clear, consistent, and player-friendly outreach and follow-upsSupport screener development and sampling strategies in partnership with researchers and ops leads to meet study criteria and quotasApply sound judgment to reduce bias in screening and sourcing decisions while executing recruiting plans that meet study criteriaCoordinate participant scheduling, attendance tracking, replacements, and incentive processingMaintain and manage player databases, participation history, and ban lists to support quality, reduce oversampling, and mitigate participant fatiguePartner with external recruiting and rescreening vendors to ensure execution quality and timeline adherenceTrack recruiting health signals such as no-show rates, replacement rates, recruiting cycle time, and recruitment efficiency to inform day-to-day delivery decisionsIdentify recurring recruiting issues and implement pragmatic process improvementsOwn initial problem-solving for recruiting risks, escalating with context, options, and recommendations to researchers and operations teammates as neededCreate and maintain recruiting documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures that support consistency and reduce reworkOperate with strong judgment around data handling, privacy, and compliance expectationsCollaborate closely with operations and research teams to flag risks early and keep studies on trackRequired Qualifications:3+ years of professional experience in research operations, user research, participant recruiting, or a closely related research support roleDemonstrated experience owning recruiting logistics independently across multiple concurrent studiesStrong working knowledge of qualitative research recruiting practices, including screening, quota management, and participant quality controlsExperience managing participant communications, scheduling, and incentive workflows with high attention to detailExperience applying research quality principles in recruiting workflows, with attention to sampling needs, panel health, participant quality, and data integrityExperience working with audience definitions, incidence rates, and core recruiting principles to support feasible and efficient study recruitingExperience working with third-party recruiting or rescreening vendorsFamiliarity with survey sampling concepts and quantitative research or social science methods as they relate to participant recruiting and screeningComfort partnering with researchers, operations staff, and vendors in fast-paced, delivery-focused environmentsStrong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and shifting prioritiesAbility to operate with discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive participant dataExposure to research compliance and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, informed consent, opt-out mechanics)Bachelor's degree in a related fieldDesired Qualifications:Experience with project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Agile), and real-world experience applying them in collaborative, delivery-focused environmentsExperience working with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Notion, JIRA, Trello, Miro, Airtable), and real-world experience leveraging them in a collaborative team settingExperience working with quantitative research tools and survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Sawtooth, UserTesting, UserInterviews) to support recruiting and screening workflowsExperience working with databases, CRM, or participant management systems for recruiting workflowsExperience working with HTML-based email templates to support recruiting and participant communicationsExperience supporting SMS-based participant communications as part of recruiting or reminder workflowsExperience thriving as a self-starter in fast-paced work environments, with the ability to ramp up quicklyExperience working in the video game industryExperience working in player-focused research environmentsFamiliarity with games and player communitiesFamiliarity with game design fundamentalsFamiliarity with game development production cycleFor this role, you'll find success through operational ownership, attention to detail, and proactive collaboration, paired with a strong sense of player empathy. The strongest candidates will be comfortable running recruiting independently while communicating clearly with partners, identifying risks early, and continuously improving how recruiting is executed.
