Position: Database Developer – Snowflake/KDB+ MigrationLocation: Hybrid New York 10019Duration: Contract opportunityPay Rate: $60–$64/hour on W2NO C2C ONLY W2Role OverviewThe client is seeking an experienced Database Developer to support and develop a multi-terabyte inventory and position data platform serving the Delta One Structured Products business globally. This role will play a key part in building a new Snowflake-based data platform while supporting and migrating existing KDB+ technology dependencies.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the migration of KDB+ data platforms to Snowflake.Design and develop database solutions, including data models, access controls, and data management processes.Review and optimize data movement strategies into Snowflake.Partner with business stakeholders to define migration approaches and data requirements.Perform database engineering, performance tuning, testing, and platform enhancements.Support cloud-based data distribution and analytics initiatives.Maintain and enhance existing KDB+/q technology components.Required SkillsStrong experience in database development and performance optimization on major RDBMS platforms.Proficiency in Python scripting.Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsExperience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.Knowledge of data modeling concepts and ETL processes.Exposure to KDB+/q or a willingness to learn.Experience with financial data domains such as inventory, securities lending/borrowing, prime brokerage, or position data.Understanding of Agile development practices.
