Automation Systems Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to maintain and repair automated systems. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our production processes through your expertise in PLC programming and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of automation equipment to minimize downtime.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including repairs to 480V 3-phase motors, motor starter circuits, and VFD drives.
Upgrade process control equipment with new technologies to improve system performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues across the plant, focusing on electrical systems and PLC.
Perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to facilitate effective repairs and installations.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications
Required Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills, including mechanical and electrical.
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming.
Experience with single and three-phase power systems, including 120/208/240/480 voltage systems.
Preferred Skills
5+ years of experience as an automation technician.
Experience in thermoforming and extrusion industries.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting PI&D drawings.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
