Maintenance Technician (HDPE Pipe Manufacturing)The Maintenance Technician supports the continuous and safe operation of HDPE pipe extrusion lines in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment optimizations on complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to help the facility meet production targets without compromising safety or product quality. This role works hands-on with advanced extrusion technology and downstream equipment while collaborating closely with a team of experienced maintenance technicians.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair single and twin-screw extruders, including barrel heaters, screw assemblies, and gearboxes to ensure stable and efficient pipe production.Service and troubleshoot downstream equipment such as vacuum tanks, cooling troughs, haul-offs (pullers), and planetary or chip-less cutting saws to maintain product quality and line uptime.Diagnose and repair high-pressure hydraulic systems used in pipe belling operations, ensuring safe and reliable performance.Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic systems used for material handling and conveying to prevent flow interruptions and production delays.Diagnose electrical faults on 480V industrial equipment and assist in troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley, that monitor pipe wall thickness and line speed.Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on chillers, air compressors, and resin conveying systems to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.Interpret and work from electrical blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to identify issues and implement effective repairs.Perform mechanical fabrication, assembly, and repairs using tools such as calipers and other precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and function.Support CNC machining, welding, and general fabrication activities as needed to modify or repair components and fixtures.Collaborate with a team of maintenance technicians to prioritize work orders, respond to equipment breakdowns, and coordinate repairs with production needs.Apply basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, to document maintenance activities, complete reports, and communicate with team members.Demonstrate coaching and team-building skills by sharing technical knowledge, supporting coworkers, and contributing to a positive, high-performing maintenance team culture.Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with high heat, high pressure, electrical systems, and heavy industrial machinery.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience performing electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance and repair on industrial machinery.Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting high-pressure hydraulic systems and pneumatic material handling systems.Ability to diagnose electrical issues on 480V industrial equipment and assist with PLC troubleshooting on systems such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley.Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance repair, assembly, and fabrication in an industrial setting.Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify part dimensions and alignments.Demonstrated capability to function effectively as a member of a highly motivated maintenance team.Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate work and document maintenance activities.Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.Basic mathematical skills to support measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree in business or equivalent education is preferred.Experience working with extrusion line equipment such as single and twin-screw extruders, vacuum tanks, cooling troughs, haul-offs, and cutting saws.CNC machining, welding, and general fabrication to support repairs and equipment modifications.Experience in an industrial machine shop environment or as a maintenance technician in manufacturing.Ability to provide coaching and support to teammates, contributing to strong team-building and collaboration.Comfort working with production teams to balance maintenance needs with manufacturing schedules.Why Work Here?You join a stable, family-oriented organization that values appreciation, respect, and the long-term growth of its team members. You work hands-on with heavy industrial equipment, including extruders, cooling systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, chillers, air compressors, and resin conveying systems. You collaborate daily with a team of approximately 10 other maintenance technicians, fostering a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere. The environment involves exposure to high heat, high pressure, and moving machinery, and you follow strict safety procedures. Steel toe boots are required as part of the dress code, and you use standard industrial tools, precision measuring instruments, and computer systems to perform your work.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corsicana, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
