Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Process Control Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Decatur, IL. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $40.36/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).Job SummaryWe are seeking a Process Control Engineer 2 to support manufacturing quality, supplier collaboration, and product supply initiatives within a large-scale production environment. This role focuses on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), supplier quality coordination, cost management, and manufacturing process improvement activities from concept through PPAP. The engineer will work closely with engineering, supplier development, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality, supplier performance, and successful implementation of manufacturing strategies. This position offers exposure to cross-functional manufacturing operations, supplier engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives in a collaborative engineering environment.Key Responsibilities• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities from concept through PPAP to ensure quality, cost, and timeline objectives are achieved• Collaborate with engineering, supplier development, quality, packaging, transportation, and supply chain teams to support manufacturing and supplier initiatives• Utilize Teamcenter and workflow processes to coordinate supplier sourcing and engineering collaboration for buy-level components• Review and escalate supplier quality defects to Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) to support containment and corrective actions• Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and supplier capability optimization• Analyze manufacturing quality feedback loops and apply lessons learned across supplier networks• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, formulas, and technical reports to support manufacturing and quality objectives• Support reporting, presentations, and documentation activities using Microsoft Office tools, including ExcelRequired Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain Engineering degrees preferred• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, or process engineering environments• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and APQP methodologies• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical documentation• Experience with Teamcenter, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Excel• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and manufacturing quality processes• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications• Experience supporting supplier quality engineering or manufacturing quality initiatives• Experience with Creo or 3D modeling software• Familiarity with cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and value engineering activities• Experience supporting PPAP, supplier collaboration, or manufacturing process improvement projects• Background working within large-scale manufacturing or industrial production environmentsWhy This Role?This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful engineering and manufacturing work supporting advanced production and supplier quality initiatives within a global industrial organization.
