Job Title: Process Control EngineerLocation: Decatur, IL (Onsite)Duration: 12 months (High Possibility of extension)Pay range: $35/hour to $40/hour on W2 (all inclusive)Job Description:Position's Contributions to Work GroupImplement product supply strategies aligned with category management to ensure a competitive and efficient supply network.Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and cost management throughout the product lifecycle.Ensure quality assurance of components and finished products to meet organizational standards.Drive Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to optimize cost, improve product design, and enhance manufacturability.Why This Role?Opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and quality, influencing product success from concept to production.Exposure to end-to-end product lifecycle management, including supplier sourcing, cost optimization, and quality improvement.Play a critical role in building and sustaining a world-class supplier network.Drive measurable business impact through cost savings, quality improvement, and process optimization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers globally, enhancing both technical and leadership skills.Typical Day or Week in the RoleTypical Task BreakdownManage APQP and cost management activities from concept through PPAP approval to ensure delivery of parts meeting quality, cost, and timeline objectives.Collaborate cross-functionally with Packaging, Transportation, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Business teams to align on project milestones.Utilize Teamcenter and workflow systems to coordinate with Engineering and Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) for sourcing and supplier selection.Identify and assign suppliers for buy-level parts, ensuring alignment with sourcing strategies.Escalate supplier quality issues to SDEs and support immediate containment and corrective actions.Implement supply strategies that optimize and integrate a high-performing global supply network.Manage quality feedback loops and ensure lessons learned are communicated and applied across the supplier base.Lead VAVE initiatives through:Cost modelingDesign for manufacturability (DFM)Leveraging supplier innovation and capabilitiesInteraction with TeamFrequent collaboration with:Buyers / Procurement TeamSupplier Development Engineers (SDEs)Engineering TeamsQuality TeamsEngineering Value Chain TeamsActive participation in cross-functional meetings and supplier reviews to drive alignment and execution.Work EnvironmentCombination of office setting and production/manufacturing environmentMay involve supplier interactions, shop floor exposure, and cross-site coordinationKey Skills & Competencies (Recommended Add-on)Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and quality standardsExperience with supply chain processes and supplier managementProficiency in tools like Teamcenter or similar PLM systemsAnalytical skills for cost modeling and VAVE initiativesExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsProblem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
