CT Technologist - Float Team (Region Four)

Work Shift Various (United States of America) Job Summary * The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities. * Region Four includes Columbia County Medical Center & MCG Health Medical Center. * As a CT Technologist for Region Four, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve. * If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay, this could be a strong fit. Work Shift * Full Time Pay * In return for stepping in where you're needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive. Schedule & Incentives * Float Pool technologists have clarity and choice: * This full-time position offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus * Multiple shift options available to self-schedule up to 8 weeks in advance * Monthly schedule includes 2 Monday shifts , 2 Friday shifts , and 3 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) * This position is eligible for full-time benefits Required Qualifications Education * High School Diploma or equivalent * Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program Experience * Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting * Minimum 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting Certifications * ARRT-R (Radiography) * ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) * BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association Core Responsibilities * Perform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards. * Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk). * Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence. * Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed. * Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency. * Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly. * Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters. * Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA). * Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated. * Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required. * Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards. * Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on-call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
