Our highly qualified staff develops students to be self-directed and lifelong learners who demonstrate personal competencies in academic achievement, technology, and citizenship.The Role:As the Athletic & Arts Center (AAC) Technical Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the AAC, including all technical functions of the stage, house, and box office. You will provide technical direction to internal and external clients regarding lighting, audio design, staging, and other production needs.This role requires managing the facility calendar, coordinating events, and ensuring that all performances and activities operate efficiently and safely. You will work closely with staff, students, and community groups while maintaining the highest standards of facility operations. A flexible schedule is required, including evenings, weekends, and extended workdays based on performance schedules.Competencies for this position:Demonstrates strong knowledge of theatre operations, staging, lighting, and sound systemsHas experience overseeing theatre productions and technical directionAbility to manage facility scheduling, event coordination, and logisticsSkilled in supervising and mentoring students in technical theatre disciplinesDemonstrates the ability to maintain and repair technical equipment and facilitiesStrong collaboration skills with staff, directors, and community stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under time constraintsEffective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates sound judgment related to safety and facility operationsAbility to develop and manage budgets, inventory, and purchasing needsExperience coordinating with maintenance staff and external vendorsDemonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to promote facility use and build community partnershipsFlexibility to perform other duties as assignedWhy You Will Love This Role:As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting both the arts and athletic programming within our district. You will collaborate with passionate educators, students, and community partners while contributing to a program that values innovation and excellence.What We'll Love About YouYou have a Bachelor's Degree with a preference in Theatre Management, Theatre Technology, Staging, Set Design, or Sound Systems/Technology, along with at least three years of successful experience in theatre productions or technical direction.You have experience working with K-12 students and staff and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. You are a self-starter who can work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of organization and professionalism.You are comfortable operating video production and computer equipment and have the ability to translate design concepts into construction and production plans.
