F/A-18 Aircraft Maintenance MechanicNew Orleans, LA$35.89 - $48.07/HourAbility to Obtain a Secret ClearanceSupport F/A-18 aircraft maintenance operations by performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and operational testing on aircraft systems and components in support of Navy aviation maintenance activities.Responsibilities:Assemble, disassemble, modify, and repair aircraft systems and components to correct failures or implement engineering changesPerform preflight, post-flight, thru-flight, phase, and end-of-runway inspectionsTroubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systemsConfigure aircraft and bench test equipment for maintenance and operational testingConduct validation and verification testing of aircraft systems and repaired componentsRemove, install, align, adjust, and rig aircraft systems and componentsPerform aircraft operational checks and functional testingInterpret technical publications, maintenance manuals, and inspection findings to resolve maintenance discrepanciesInspect aircraft structures and components for tolerances, clearances, corrosion, installation accuracy, and flight worthinessPerform aircraft jacking, towing, lifting, combat turns, and hot pit refueling operationsOperate and inspect powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipmentReview and maintain maintenance records, aircraft documentation, historical reports, and automated maintenance systemsSupport training activities and provide maintenance guidance to team membersEnsure compliance with Navy maintenance procedures, contractual requirements, and quality standardsQualifications:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experienceActive Secret Clearance required prior to start (interim acceptable)Minimum 5+ years of military fighter aircraft maintenance experienceMinimum 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications and maintenance manualsExperience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to lift up to 35 poundsPreferred Qualifications:F/A-18 AM or AD experience/qualificationsExperience with Navy 4790.2 maintenance requirementsPrior experience supporting Navy aviation maintenance operationsApplicable military or technical maintenance certifications/credentialsMoseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.Your RecruiterWhat to Expect:Applicants selected for employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation, which may include education, criminal, and work history verifications.Accepted applicants will be eligible for benefits, including medical and supplemental insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
