District Service Manager

OverviewOur client is a well-established industrial equipment service organization providing specialized technical support, equipment management, and field services across multiple operational sites.They are seeking an experienced District Service Manager to oversee the performance, administration, and personnel within a designated district. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day operations across service, parts, yard, and office functions while ensuring strong customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong operational mindset, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to developing and supporting high-performing teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDistrict Operations ManagementSupervise and direct all district operations including service, parts, yard, shop, and administrative functionsEnsure efficient day-to-day workflow and alignment across all operational areasOversee scheduling, resource allocation, and operational priorities to meet customer and business requirementsMonitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiativesLeadership & Personnel ManagementLead, coach, and develop district employees across multiple functionsConduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support employee developmentFoster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work cultureAddress employee relations issues in collaboration with HR, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processesMotivate teams to achieve operational and service goalsCustomer & Vendor RelationsMaintain strong professional relationships with customers and vendorsEnsure high levels of customer service, responsiveness, and communicationParticipate in customer meetings as required for project coordination and service deliverySupport resolution of customer issues in a timely and professional mannerInventory, Equipment & Logistics ManagementOversee parts and inventory control, ensuring accuracy and proper stock managementEnsure incoming equipment is inspected, documented, and stored appropriatelyCoordinate shipping, receiving, and logistics, including freight coordination and schedulingEnsure proper loading and secure transport of equipment and materialsSafety & ComplianceEnforce company safety policies and procedures at all timesEnsure compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry standardsConduct safety inspections and report unsafe conditions or practicesPromote proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practicesSupport training and reinforcement of safety programs across the districtAdministrative & ReportingEnsure timely completion of required documentation and reporting to corporate leadershipMaintain accurate operational records, inventory documentation, and service reportsManage purchasing of office and shop supplies as requiredSupport audit readiness and compliance requirementsQualificationsRequired Skills & ExperienceProven experience in operations management, service management, or branch/district leadershipStrong leadership skills with experience managing multi-functional teamsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with inventory management, logistics coordination, and customer service operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general business systemsAbility to read and interpret technical documents and operational manualsCertifications & LicensesValid driver’s license (required)CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Forklift certification (may be required)Equipment operator or safety-related certifications considered an assetPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs when requiredRegular standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneelingAbility to work at heights and in outdoor/industrial environmentsOccasional travel and field/site visits requiredAbility to work extended hours, including overtime and on-call availability as neededWork EnvironmentCombination of office, shop, yard, and field environmentsExposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environmentsMay involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, and operational hazards with required safety controls in place
