Maintenance & Repair Technician

The Barnstable County Dredge Department is accepting applications forthe full-time position of a Maintenance & Repair Tech. This is theultimate \"MacGyver\" job. High school education & proven experiencewith diesel, gas & outboard engines, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment,marine electrical systems & welding. Work includes the maintenance &repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment used by the department.From changing oil to replacing fittings to managing spare parts to namejust a few of the job responsibilities. Requirements include: A validDriver\'s License, & reliable transportation to & from the job site. Theability to acquire a hydraulic license (Class 2A) within first year ofemployment. Must be able to travel to each project site using departmentvehicles on Cape Cod. Must be able to work Saturdays as needed (withovertime during the dredge season - September through May). Must be ableto tolerate conditions on the water, vibrations, heat, confined spaces,& high noise levels.
