Human Resources Payroll Manager

MLC Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Human Resources Manager to oversee payroll processing and support day-to-day HR operations for our Syracuse-area client. This role combines payroll administration with light human resources responsibilities including onboarding, benefits coordination, employee records management, and compliance support. The ideal candidate is organized, confidential, customer-service focused, and experienced with payroll systems and HR processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationProcess weekly payroll accurately and on timeMaintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, commissions, and tax reportingEnsure compliance with federal, New York State, and local payroll regulationsReconcile payroll reports and assist with audits and reportingManage employee timekeeping systems and payroll changesCoordinate with accounting regarding payroll journal entries and benefits reconciliationsHuman Resources SupportAssist with onboarding, orientation, and new hire paperworkMaintain employee personnel files and HRIS recordsSupport benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questionsCoordinate leave administration, workers’ compensation, and compliance documentationSupport employee relations and company policy communicationHelp ensure compliance with employment laws and internal proceduresQualifications3+ years of payroll and HR experienceExperience with payroll systems such as Paycor preferredKnowledge of payroll laws, HR practices, and employment complianceStrong Microsoft Excel and Office skillsExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to handle confidential information with professionalismPreferred SkillsMulti-state payroll experienceStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPlease submit resume for confidential consideration.
