And we invest in our world-class team, empowering our colleagues to unpack their potential, because we believe when our people grow, so does our business.Job DescriptionThe Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing an effective production plan that ensures customer required ship dates are met while maximizing manufacturing efficiency and aligning with Amcor's operational and financial objectives. This role prioritizes molds, machines, and work centers to support safe, efficient, and cost‐effective operations.The Production Scheduler evaluates demand, capacity, inventory positions, and operational constraints to determine the most efficient course of action. Scheduling decisions directly influence purchasing, inventory levels, labor utilization, and service outcomes, making this role critical to overall site performance. The position operates under general supervision and reports to the Material Control Manager (or Supervisor of Scheduling and Inventory, as applicable).Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and execute a well‐planned production schedule to meet customer ship date requirementsPrioritize molds, machines, and work orders to maximize machine efficiency and plant utilizationEnter, release, prioritize, re‐sequence, increase, or decrease work orders across work centers to maintain schedule integrityRun Order Processing for all scheduled work ordersUpdate and publish online production schedules dailyModify production schedules as needed to address customer priorities, capacity constraints, and weekend or extended schedulesEnsure Not Scheduled time is recorded accuratelyReview MRP messages daily to identify open and upcoming production ordersCreate and delete work orders to align production with demandMaintain appropriate safety stock levels for finished goods to support the master production planMonitor inventory levels to ensure proper cycling of molds and printersPrepare and execute run‐out plans for slow‐moving or discontinued inventory to minimize obsolete stockMaintain master data for assigned planner itemsSub‐parts lists to optimize material consumption and inventory utilizationCoordinate intercompany transfer planning and execution as requiredManage planned downtime events such as holidays, shutdowns, and maintenance in coordination with Operations and MaintenanceMonitor and communicate unplanned downtime through Daily Line Update ReportsWork cross‐functionally to adjust schedules in response to equipment availability, labor constraints, or supply interruptionsCoordinate outsourcing and subcontractor utilization as neededWork closely with Customer Service Representatives to acknowledge order dates and resolve order‐related issuesProvide order status and production reports to Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain as requiredCollaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Shipping, and other departments to identify and support performance improvement initiativesProvide management with capacity, utilization, and production planning insights for assigned work centersTrack, analyze, and support achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), including: Ship to Promise, Days on Hand (DOH), Obsolete inventory, Production schedule variance, Order cycle time, Plant utilizationProvide analytical insight to support data‐driven decision‐making and continuous improvementProficiently utilize ERP and scheduling tools, including JDE and LogilityMaintain data accuracy and integrity across scheduling, inventory, and order management systemsAssist Supply Chain Management with special assignments and initiativesSupport and maintain learning and development initiatives that enable internal skill growthFollow, promote, and enforce all Amcor safety, environmental, health, and quality standardsEnsure production schedules and planning activities support GMP compliancePromote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational disciplineQualificationsRequiredProven experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing environmentAbility to solve problems using analysis, judgment, and creativityProficiency in computer‐based scheduling, inventory, and reporting systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and time‐management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively across functions in a dynamic, fast‐paced environmentPreferred2–3 years of experience in materials planning and inventory management or equivalent manufacturing experienceBachelor's degree preferredProduction manufacturing backgroundExposure to Customer Service, Quality, Shipping, and Supply Chain operationsExperience using ERP/MRP systems (JDE preferred)Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and planning capabilityHigh attention to detail and data accuracyAbility to manage competing priorities and changing demandsCustomer‐focused and results‐driven mindsetProfessional communication and collaboration skillsUnderstanding of the financial and operational impact of scheduling decisionsAbility to influence outcomes without direct authorityWork EnvironmentOffice‐based role with frequent interaction with manufacturing operationsFast‐paced, deadline‐driven manufacturing environmentRequires flexibility to respond to changes in demand, capacity, and operational constraintsStrict adherence to Amcor safety, quality, and compliance standards is mandatoryAmcor is committed to safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
